 * I updated our WP version and had to reset the password (the original one did
   not work) and now the dashboard does not load our pages, but a blank (as if brand
   new) dashboard. This has never happened upon updating and we have also lost the
   template with which we had created our site – the site now appears on a default
   template.

 * Had you previously amended the Twenty Eleven theme?

 * Yes – I had changed colors, menu, pages, and banner (photo)

 * Than that’s why you have reverted to the original unedited Twenty Eleven theme.
   Never edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and
   having access to an **unedited** version of the theme is vital when dealing with
   a range of site issues.
 * [Create a child theme for your customisations](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
   Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

 * So I am lost – the website shows the page content with the default theme – my
   dashboard shows none of the above. Am I to re-create the site with a new theme?
 * Not sure why this happened – for the past year, this has all worked like a charm.

 * Sorry – I don’t follow you…

 * if you go to our website – [http://www.flagstaffleadershipprogram.com](http://www.flagstaffleadershipprogram.com)
   the content is there but not the changes in the theme (which have been there
   for a year now, even after numerous updates to the WP version). On my Dashboard,
   I no longer see the content (pages, posts, media, etc.); it is as if I am beginning
   from scratch or have a new Dashboard. The username and login are the same as
   before, but everything that has been previously built is no longer showing in
   the Dashboard.

 * > the content is there but not the changes in the theme
 * That’s because the theme was over-written when you upgraded WordPress.
 * Have you also tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.

 * I haven’t tried this, though I will.
 * I had isues on my PhpMyAdmin – this is WAY more complicated that a content writer(
   me! :)) should be dealing with.
 * The bigger issue (to me) is that the content is not showing in my dashboard –
   I can re-do the theme easily, but where does it go once it is re-done? I cannot
   access the original content – it is as if they are no longer connected. So I
   am afraid the new will not overwrite what is currently appearing on the website.

 * What kind of issues?

 * When I was trying to retreive/ reset my password – it was listed incorrectly (
   symbols and something that made no sense) following the update. GoDaddy tech
   walked me through this and once I rewote the password, two errors appeared. i
   was able to hit “Go” and clear them. The email in the PhpMyAdmin was correct;
   however, it would not generate a lost password email.

 * That sounds like something went wrong during the upgrade process. Your password
   was probably not the only data in the database that was damaged. Did you make
   a database backup before upgrading?

 * I thought I did – I did what I normally do when I back it up, but I am afraid
   that it did not back up before updating. Is there anything I can do to recover
   from this?

 * Do you have any database backups?
