# WP 4.9 “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘” issue

 * Just found this plugin and heard fantastic things about it, since it would effectively
   replace about 5 other plugins I commonly use. However when I tried to activate
   it, it comes back with an error message as follows:
 * Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    Parse error:
   syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/XXXXX/public_html/new/wp-content/plugins/
   wp-disable/wpperformance.php on line 88
 * Not sure if this is related to the recent WP 4.9 update, or just a coding error,
   but wanted to let you know. Look forward to using this plugin!

 * could you let us know what php ver and OS this is running on when you get that
   error. its not WP 4.9 related from what we can see our end?
