 * My apologies if this is redundant, but I’ve looked through the last four posts
   pages and did a search.
I’ve installed SQL dependant PHP scripts before without
a problem. The config changes in those scripts were virtually identical to WordPress’
I’ve double-checked everything on that end and the database, username, password,
permissions, ect. are all correct and I know from past installs (of other scripts)
that my host’s serve is configured properly. So, following the 5 minute instructions
   I upload everything in [http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/](http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/)
Then I try to access [http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php](http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php)
Well, there’s no wp-admin folder. I would create it, but I don’t know what all
would be in there. Is there a discription of the fine structure I’m suppose to
follow? Oh I’m so lost. Errors: ——————————————————————————————- [http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/](http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/)

There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get
started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through
a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way
is to manually create the file. ——————————————————————————————- [http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config.php](http://www.apt131.com/wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config.php)

 * the wp-admin folder should contain the same stuff as the wp-admin folder in the
WP distribution you downloaded, once it’s unzipped – a whole load of php files.
also, did you create a wp-config.php? if not, take wp-config-sample.php, fill
in the database info, save it as wp-config.php and upload into wp-admin folder
   on your server. HTH.

 * I’ve made my changes in the config file and uploaded it as wp-config.php
    I downloaded
the zip (well, .tar actually) file. Unzipped it all into one folder. There was
no file structure. I’m guessing there was suppose to be. When I opened the zip
file it was just one big list. So do I need to just put create a wp-admin folder
and put ALL of the PHP files in the in there?

 * what software are u using to extract the files?
there WOULD be some option to
extract the files mantaining the folder structure. winzip has a checkbox most
   software does that by default.

 * *Kicks WinZip*
If you use the Wizard, it works. Problem is, I never use the
wizard. That makes no senses to me. ARG! Alright, much thanks to everyone.

 * i have never used the wizard myself. thats why there is a CHECKBOX for this particular
reason that it gives the user choices. wizard does the extraction the safe way…
cant really blame winzip for that. i have had reasons to extract files in the
past where i did not need the folder structure.
