 * I’m having a wicked time with this issue. I try to login and I just keep getting
put in a loop. I have just updated to v3.8 from v3.7. I did also update 1 plugin(
   more details below).
 * Yes, I’ve searched the forums
I AM using the right login/password This is a
stand-alone install. Not Multi-site. I have the recommended .htaccess I am not
using Dreamhost Yes, I’ve reset my browser and deleted the cache and cookies.
I’ve actually tried 2 different computers and multiple browsers including IE7,
IE8, IE9, Firefox 26, and Chrome (something). Yes, I’ve renamed my plugins folder
to plugins.old. – I’ve tried the whole folder as well as each plugin individually
Yes, I’ve tried to rename all of my themes except for twentyfourteen – This totally
broke the site for me, so I had to revert to using my normal theme. I’ve reviewed
   [http://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble](http://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble)
and not had any luck I’ve reset my salt keys… still can’t login Tried downloading
the v3.8.zip from WordPress.org and uploading the core files again – no effect
 * The website is working, meaning that pages are served and I’m not getting an
error message. After I updated the
 * [http://webstrong.biz/wp-admin/](http://webstrong.biz/wp-admin/) just keeps looping
   to [http://webstrong.biz/wp-login.php](http://webstrong.biz/wp-login.php)
 * Any help that you can give would be great!

 * Use your FTP or host provided method to:
 * 1. Perform a proper manual update (if you are sure this was done, skip).
    2.
Rename the whole plugins folder to **old-**plugins. 3. Rename all theme folders
to **old-**theme_folder_name. 3a: Upload a default unedited theme. 4. Ensure
your host is not caching your site. 5. Ensure a CDN was not specified and still
active. 6. Clear (not refresh a page, _clear you local browser cache_). browser
cache. 7. Login. Not still: 7a: **Perform a proper manual update**. 8. Report
   back.

 * Thanks for the response. I performed all of the steps you mentioned. Earlier
today I got a response back from my host and they had been doing #4 (host caching).
I’m not sure why they would do this, as this is a premium service from them (
for use on high volume sites, for which I am not). After the cool-down for caching
was reached, my sites started returning to normal function.
 * Thanks again for adding #4 to the list of things to check. Yours is the only
list that I saw in searches that mentioned it. Consider this one solved.
