# wp-admin/install.php not found

 * Hello!
 * Please, help me! I am a total beginner and feel a bit lost. I have a domain and
   hosting on totalchoicehosting.com and I am now trying to install WordPress in
   my root directory and already have successfully uploaded everything through FileZilla

 * I am also sure that I redacted the file wp-config.php correctly.
 * Now I am trying to go to [http://anastasiasofina.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://anastasiasofina.com/wp-admin/install.php)
   using my browser, but it says:
 * Not Found
 * The requested URL /wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server.
 * Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument
   to handle the request.
 * I have also tried to go to [http://www.anastasiasofina.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://www.anastasiasofina.com/wp-admin/install.php)
   and to [http://anastasiasofina.com/public_html/altovka/wp-admin/install.php](http://anastasiasofina.com/public_html/altovka/wp-admin/install.php)
   just in case, but the results were the same.

 * Your knowledgebase article is 10 years old and I see at least one erroneous instruction.
 * You could try this:

 * Also, can you find the folder /wp-admin/ anywhere on your host? If so, please
   tell us the folder which contains the /wp-admin/ folder?

 * Also, ensure that when you upload WordPress, you upload all files and keep the
   folder structure intact.

 * The site was actually installed in a sub-directory named “altovka”.
 * It’s since been moved to root and is looking pretty good! [@altovka](https://wordpress.org/support/users/altovka/)
   must have already gotten it moved okay. 🙂
