# wp-admin.php error

 * When attempting to access my admin area wp-admin.php I get the following error:
   Error 404 – Not Found How do I correct this? OR How can I restore a backup file?
   I cannot get access to my admin area.

 * First of all, there is no such file wp-admin.php. There is wp-admin/index.php
   and wp-admin/admin.php.
 * Also, you can restore any admin file from a fresh installation using your FTP.
   This will not affect your current site..

 * I got myself into Iram401’s situation when I was in my admin control panel and
   changed both of the pathnames. The install worked great when the pathnames were
   both:

 * but I changed to something like
 * [http://www.swingresearch.com/wordpress/index.php](http://www.swingresearch.com/wordpress/index.php)
 * Now my blogsite has lost its formatting, and I get a 404 error when trying to
   access my admin page. I don’t know which admin file to restore. Using my FileZilla
   program, none of the file dates seem to have been changed.
 * Any suggestions would be appreciated.
