 * Hi,
 * it seems like the photo gallery plugin has some issues with new WordPress 6.8.2(
   some links to open photos in the articles are broken) and more importaantly with
   the PHP 8.0+ because if I switch pfrom PHP 7.4 to PHP 8.0 and above (8.2, 8.3….)
   the page is completly down and there is PHP fatal error:
 * Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function create_function() in /wp-content/plugins/
   photo-gallery/photo-gallery.php:562
 * Will there be PHP 8.1+ support because honestly PHP 7.4 is almost 3 years in
   EOL, PHP 8.0 almost 2 years…. WordPress itself wants to upgrade the PHP version
   and its not very secure and save to stay on EOL PHP versions so….
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fwp-and-php-support%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Hello [@tomperys](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tomperys/),
   Nik from 10Web.
   io here, thanks so much for reaching out!
 * Could you please let me know which version of our plugin you currently have installed
   on your website? Version 1.8.35 is fully compatible with PHP 8.1 and above, and
   has been thoroughly tested on all versions up to 8.4.
 * The fatal error you’re seeing (`create_function`) impliest there might be an
   older gallery build (or duplicate copy) is being loaded—`create_function` was
   removed in PHP 8.
 * Could you please check this and keep me posted?

 * Thanks, WP shows strange version 91.3.4 next to the **Photo Gallery** plugin
   and also it doesnt show any updates available for this plugin at this time so
   I guess and hope I have the latest version, but I have no idea why its showing
   such strange version number

 * Hi [@tomperys](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tomperys/)
 * Are you sure it is our Photo Gallery plugin that is installed on the site? The
   latest version is **
   1.8.35
   , if you have doubts, you can re-download the plugin
   right from [https://wordpress.org/plugins/photo-gallery/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/photo-gallery/)
 * Please keep me posted!

 * Yes it is I tried to insert the screenshot here but I guess its not possible,
   but its the “**Photo Gallery**” plugin and if I click on the “Show details” it
   leads to “Photo Gallery by 10Web” where I can see that the plugin latest version
   is  1.8.35 but wordpress shows 91.3.4

 * Ok seems I probably had the original version (from WebDorado) and that was the
   cause of the strange version (the original versioning) and the fact the pluging
   wasnt able to update at its own to the “new” 10web versions…..
 * Now it works with the new PHP versions, BUT … I have another issue unfortunately,
   Iam using fancybox (it suits me better I have have some custom css changes to
   it) for opening all images in WP. There was no problem in the original Photo
   Gallery plugin to deactivate its lightbox becuase Iam using the fancybox. But
   here even If i changed the settings “**Image click action**” to do nothing, it
   stills open the images in the lightbox which overrides the fancybox (so they
   actuly open both but the photo gallery ligbox is on TOP of the fancybox). how
   can I solve this ???? Why the “do nothing” settings doesnt work at all ????

 * Same if i choose “**Enable filmstrip**” no and save the optins the filmstrip
   is still there also, seems like the settings doesnt work 🙁

 * Please is there any way to deactivate the Photo G allery Lightbox completly?
   I dont want to use it….. I want to use the Fancybox. If this will not be the
   option I will cancel my subscription and find another Photo Gallery…..

 * Hello [@tomperys](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tomperys/)
   Here’s how
   you can disable the lightbox entirely by switching this option to “do nothing”:
   [https://gyazo.com/c1d49503c194e6069c8c6f9a29be9785](https://gyazo.com/c1d49503c194e6069c8c6f9a29be9785)
 * Let me know how it goes

 * I did that as I wrote before, but it doesn’t do anything, for some reason the
   setting doesn’t work, even if I turn off the filmstrip it still shows. I tried
   uninstalling and reinstalling the entire plugin and that doesn’t help either.
   I don’t currently use any caching plugin. I have no idea why but the setting
   just doesn’t work at all, if you want I can give you access to the WP so you
   can try it yourself, for example on any article and gallery in it.

 * Update: I found out why the global settings have no effect – each gallery in
   the articles has its own settings that override the global one. The bad news
   is that if I set “Do nothing”, the photos won’t open at all because the way the
   gallery is rendered has apparently changed from the old version and instead of`
   < a class="bwg-a bwg_lightbox fancyboxforwp" data-image-id="11696" href="wp-content/
   uploads/photo-gallery/2025/2025_07_02-06_luhacovice-vsetin/P7023349.jpg" data-
   elementor-open-lightbox="no" data-fancybox="gallery" >` it will do just `< a
   class="bwg-a " data-elementor-open-lightbox="no" >` and therefore without a href
   link.
 * If I choose the last third option “Redirect to URL”, the a tag is exactly the
   same as with “Do nothing” and still does not have an href and therefore is unopenable
   for fanxcybox.

 * Hi [@tomperys](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tomperys/),
 * Apologies if there was a misunderstanding, in the previous message you mentioned“**
   Enable filmstrip**” setting, not the “**Image Click Action**” setting for Lightbox,
   hence I felt the need to provide the steps for this setting too.
 * As for the main issue, I’m afraid we currently don’t support third-party plugin
   integrations—particularly those that serve similar functions to our built-in
   gallery features, such as Fancybox. Because of this, we’re unable to offer further
   troubleshooting for compatibility.
 * If you find that this plugin better meets your needs, we recommend switching
   to it entirely for a smoother experience.

 * It’s unfortunate that you’re forcing your lightbox as a fixed component. The
   original plugin (before 10web took it over) allowed this. Well, I did cancel
   my subscription and I will find another photo gallery plugin. Its sad you don’t
   even care about paying customers…. your bad luck….
