 * i downloaded WP and it didnt give me the wp-config.php file.
    does anyone have
   one i could have?

    i was trying stuff and i saw wp.config-sample.php so i renamed
   it to wp-config.php but it didnt work il tru it thjougn than ks

 * I’m trying not to jump to conclusions from your post, but I feel better if I 
   assume the worst and give you all the info I can. 😉
    You can’t just rename it.
   🙂 I think the install doc is pretty specific about the modifications you need
   to manually make in wp-config in order for it to properly connect to your SQL
   database. If you haven’t read that part, definitely look for it. =d
