# WP HTTP Error: Couldn't resolve host 'wordpress.org'

 * Hello.
 * I get this error in the dashboard
 * > `"RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Couldn't resolve host 'wordpress.org'"`
 * When I try to search for a plugin I get this error :
 * > `"An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or
   > this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the
   > support forums."`
 * When I try to update a plugin,I get this error :
 * > `Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/easy-theme-and-
   > plugin-upgrades.1.0.4.zip…`
   > Download failed. Couldn’t resolve host ‘downloads.wordpress.org’
 * I have seen a lot of questions related to this error in the forum,but no specific
   solution.
 * Kindly help me in this issue.

 * Your hosts may be blocking requests to external sites. Have you tried asking 
   them about it?

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh
   download of your current version of WordPress.

    The problem is
   caused with Ewww image optimizer plugin. Deactivated it.
