    did you download the
backup file and **extract** it? just to make sure the wp-includes is there. Also,
please help me just to run the job again then check the backup file. TY!

 * I’m having this problem too. I back up weekly, and having been using the same
backup job for months (maybe years) without changes. As of the 7/16/20 backup,
wp-includes was included in the file. As of 7/23/20, it was not.
 * I tried downloading the 7/23/20 backup file via FTP to a different folder, and
wp-includes was in that copy (viewing both files in 7zip). Double-checked file
names were the same – yes. But file sizes were different. The file downloaded
via the WP Dashboard BackWPup interface was 2,096,241kb, while the copy of the
same file that I downloaded to my desktop via FTP was 2,107,662kb.
 * So it seems like somehow, within the past week, the BackWPup interface has started
to strip wp-includes out of the file during the download process.

 * Hello [@syzygist](https://wordpress.org/support/users/syzygist/)
    could you please
try to extract the file and see in case if the wp-include missing? Thank you
   so much!

 * On one site, I am still unable to use the BackWPup download interface within
the WordPress dashboard. For example, the size of 7/30/20 in the backup file
list showed as consistent with the size of previous backups. However, when I
downloaded it, it contained only the database. I tried downloading it a second
time, and it did not include wp-includes. I finally had to download it via FTP
   to get the entire file.

 * just to be sure, that I do the right thing: I should take the file from github
and place it via FTP at backwpup/inc/class-destination-downloader.php

 * I replaced backwpup/inc/class-destination-downloader.php with the version on
github, and downloaded two copies of a backup file from early this morning, one
via FTP, and the other via the interface in WordPress, to two different locations.
The copy of the file that I downloaded through WordPress had a smaller file size,
   and did not include wp-includes.
 * Note that this backup file was run BEFORE I switched out the new version of backwpup/
inc/class-destination-downloader.php. Since the problem appears to be in the
preparation of the file for download rather than in the creation of the backup
file, I thought this wouldn’t matter, right? The copy of the backup file that
I downloaded via FTP does appear to be complete. It includes wp-includes, and
the file size matches the file size that appears in Backup list in the plugin
   interface.

 * In one case, the entire wp-includes folder mysteriously DISAPPEARED from the
   current installation!
 * No explanation for HOW that suddenly happened can be found.
 * To save time, we just did a completely, new installation from scratch and imported
a backup of the site — and changed passwords, of course.
