Title: wp-login loop Last modified: August 30, 2016 --- # wp-login loop * [Peter Ould](https://wordpress.org/support/users/pould/) * (@pould) * [10 years, 5 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-login-loop-2/) * I had a problem with a login loop after moving server that seemed to be fixed when I updated the PHP version (specifically changed it from default for OS – 5.3 – to version 5.6 via the Plesk control panel on my VPS). * However, I now have the same problem again. * I have tried: * removing cookies trying fresh installed browser reinstalling wp-admin and wp- includes removing plugins renaming theme cycling through all versions of PHP ( 5.3 to 5.6 and also 7.0) * None of this works!!!! Any help / ideas gratefully received – I am tearing what remains of my hair out. Rename the current .htaccess file lies inside WordPress root directory to .htaccess.bak.
