Have you tried to contact the author? Does it work with registered users, or does it fail to apply shouts for anyone? Are you sure it’s correctly installed?
hmmm…. I got the same proplem now. The Shoutbox does not add any commesnt. I also tried to contact the author….
Did anyone solve this problem before?

Check the readme.txt file for the plugin in the section that says “The messages never appear=”.
I checked the readme and changed the wordspew.php, but it still doesnt work…
what else could it be!

I’ve finally figured it out. It turns out your installation of PHP didn’t have the mysql_real_escape_string() function.
Replacing all instances of that function with addslashes() will do the trick. I’ve emailed you as well.
