 * I am using WP Super Cache. Without it, my blog bogs down the server. However,
since I installed it, the plug in – Post Expirator ([http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-expirator/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-expirator/))–
does not work and scheduled posts are not working. Does anyone have any idea
   how to resolve these issues?

 * Scheduled posts work normally with Supercache (without Post Expirator) and I’ve
never used that plugin so I can’t tell you if it’s doing something out of the
   ordinary. Sorry.

 * The scheduled posts are not working normally (with or without Posts Expirator)
and now, it keeps re-writing my .htaccess file in such a way that I get a “oops
Method not allowed” message instead of my site if there is a www in front of
   the URL.
    [http://www.freenclearstuff.com](http://www.freenclearstuff.com) spits
the error [http://freenclearstuff.com](http://freenclearstuff.com) does not —
 * I end up having to totally delete my .htaccess file every few days to get the
   site working again.

 * Hi, I can’t uninstall this plugin which I suspect is stopping WP FancyBox from
working. After deactivation when I try to uninstall I get the message:
    Warning:
include(../../../wp-load.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such
   file or directory in /home2/jlynntwo/public_html/photoanimoto/wp-content/plugins/
   wp-super-cache/uninstall.php on line 8
 * Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘../../../wp-load.php’
   for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib64/php:/usr/lib/php’) in /home2/jlynntwo/
   public_html/photoanimoto/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/uninstall.php on line
   8
UNINSTALL_WPSUPERCACHE must be set to a non-blank value in uninstall.php As
I’m fairly new to all this I don’t have any idea what it means. Advice on how
to remove it completely would be much appreciated. Thanks

 * Emerald, I had the same problem and just uninstalled it forcefully through FTP.

 * Emerald65 – check the readme.txt, as everything I’ll tell you is already written
   there.

 * Hi Donncha, where is the read me.txt. It’s very frustrating being a newbie, I
can’t follow a lot of the tech stuff.

 * SexyDawnT, thanks for your reply, unfortunately I have no idea what you mean.
I should let you in to the works. Kind regards. John

 * It’s in your plugins/wp-super-cache/ directory or [here](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-super-cache/other_notes/).

 * after upgrading to 0.9.9.4, I only see the php safe_mode warning (which I saw
before as well, didn’t bother me) but I don’t have access to all the options
   any more?

 * Donncha, you might as well have sent me an opera in Mandarin. What do I have
to do to explain that I don’t understand this kind of stuff. I’m a photographer,
not a web master or programmer. I just want a simple way to get this off my system.
If you make something easy to install you should make it equally easy to remove,
or warn that it’s not for beginners. Will I have to pay someone to do this for
   me ?

 * Emerald65 – it’s worth learning how to do this stuff just because it’s basic
site maintenance skills. Otherwise yes, hire someone or host your blog at WordPress.
   com. 🙁
 * futta – yikes. Safe mode really doesn’t help security but if you’re stuck with
it look for the string “safe_mode” in wp-cache.php and delete the “return false;”
that follows it 12 lines below. (around line 149) You’ll still get the warning
but it won’t stop you using the plugin.

 * What a creep you are. Some basic decency and understanding go a long way, but
you are obviously lacking in these departments. Learn some manners !!

 * Sorry, if I was a creep I’d be calling you names or ignoring your requests. You’re
using a self hosted WordPress install, and with that brings responsibilities
and it’s a sign that you’re at least willing to get your hands dirty maintaining
   your website.
 * The first line of the instructions asks you to remove a single line from a single
file, wp-config.php – use your ftp client to find it, edit the file, and upload
it again. That will be enough to get your site back to working order. It’s presumed
that when you have a self hosted WordPress site that you can use ftp or other
   basic tools.

 * [@donncha](https://wordpress.org/support/users/donncha/): removing the ‘return
false’ wp-cache.php worked, thanks. will this be fixed in the following release?
as wp-super-cache (fortunately) can work under ‘safe mode’-conditions (no matter
the lack of merit of that setting), excluding those users from accessing the
config must be a bug, no? 🙂
