# wp_insert_post only inserting first 2000 posts

 * Exactly as title says. Trying to do an import of approximate 25,000 items, but
   only first 2000 are being imported. Is this due to my host, or is it a limit 
   of WordPress itself? Is there any way to get around this?
 * Haven’t been able to find this issue anywhere.

 * Best guess: the import is timing out because it is exceeding your server’s max_execution
   time. Try [splitting the import file down](http://www.gbmini.net/wp/2008/11/splitting_wordpress_export_import_file/)
   into smaller chunks – each one chunk being 1 meg or less.

 * Hi Esmi,
 * Thanks for the feedback. I upped the limit on max_execution_time and nothing 
   happened. Found out that the limit is because of the API that we’re trying to
   integrate with. 🙁
