Hi there – I am having an issue with a WPForms contact form on a site that I’m building. When I try to submit the contact form to test it, the email gets sent to the correct email address, but when my client goes to respond to the email, the response he types gets sent back to him (as opposed to me, who filled out the contact form to test it).

Hoping someone will be able to help. Thanks!

    Here is the website: http://fifecelebrant.uk

The contact form is at the bottom of the page. I’m using Brevo as my SMTP tool.

    Hi @amanda81,

    Thanks for reaching out!

This usually happens because of how the “Reply-To” field is configured in your form’s notification settings. By default, WPForms sets the “Reply-To” to the email address entered in the form’s Email field (see screenshot).

However, if you’ve also set the “Send To Email Address” to use the Email field’s Smart Tag, then replies will go back to the sender. To fix this, you could enter your own email address in the “Reply-To” field. This ensures that replies always come back to you, regardless of the email address entered in the form.

Could you please check your form’s notification settings and adjust the “Reply-To” field accordingly? Let me know if this solves the problem or if you have any other questions. I’m here to help!

    Thanks!

    Hi @amanda81,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
