 * I am trying to upload the wpg2 plugin. I have downloaded the file unzipped it
   then uploaded it to the plugins area of my space, and I still do not get an option
   to add it from the plugins section of my dashboard, is there something that I
   am missing here

 * dont see it.
 * [http://www.seanconvy.com/wp-content/plugins/](http://www.seanconvy.com/wp-content/plugins/)
 * you put it in the wrong place. do not put it in in www/wp-content/plugins/
 * it goes in public_html/wp-content/plugins/ or something similar.
 * www is a symlink.
 * and whats with the wp-includes/ dir in there as well? that doesnt go there.

 * looks like your fixing it, your welcome. Please make sure to mark this thread
   as resolved.
 * though you dont appear to be following the instructions on where the files go.
 * Inside your plugin directory you ought to have:
 * wpg/
 * inside that directory, you ought to have:
 * locale/
    g2admin.php g2adminblogimage.php g2adming2image.php … etc..
 * he’s packed the zip up so that it mimics a wordpress directory structure.
 * Whats inside the zip’s wp-includes/ goes inside your wp-includes/ directory —
   following the same structure .. and so on.
 * —
 * and just for future reference, this isnt a wordpress installation issue (where
   you happened to post this thread)
 * .. and now you deleted your entire install. Hopefully you saved that wp-config.

 * since you put everything back but still are not following the installation instructions
   in the html file, I made you an image:
 * [http://www.village-idiot.org/broke/thisiswhatyouwant.gif](http://www.village-idiot.org/broke/thisiswhatyouwant.gif)
 * Assume that “my_wordpress_install” in the image is the directory YOUR wordpress
   is installed into.
 * This is all easily accomplished using recursive upload btw.

 * Here’s another tip: if you unzip a .zip file, you’ll see every file all in one
   the window. If you then **extract** the .zip file to a folder, it will give you
   the proper file hierarchy, including the folders and files that should be in
   them.
