# WPPA JSON Error

 * When adding slideshow or changing album I keep getting a “not valid JSON response”
   error. I tried disabling and reactivating the plugin, tried a private browser
   tab. I reached out to GoDaddy support, but they can’t help (unless I give them
   $50).
 * This is for a site I manage for a competition circuit and all of our albums are
   already there, so even if there was a better plugin to use, it would be a huge
   undertaking.
 * Any ideas??

 * I just tested it and it works ok my dev site. It is a known fact that the block
   editor and the block widgets are prone to instability.
 * The easiest and fastest way to overcome this are two plugins, that you can (temprarely)
   activate when you encounter this kind of problems.
 * They are:

   [https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/)
 * FYI: Do not install plugin Disable Gutenberg, it contains a bug that affects 
   frontend ajax operations.
 * An other option is to use a shortcode block and enter a wppa shortcode.
    I am
   aware that it will take some effort to get familiar with wppa shortcodes, but
   it is the most flexible way to generate the display you want.
 * Examples: [wppa type=”slide” album=”7″] generates a slideshow with album #7
