Write Post — Populating boxes on right

I am having the weirdest problem. I cannot get any of the boxes — Post Slug, Categories, Post Author, Post Time Stamp, etc. — to populate. This is a clean install of WordPress 2.0 on a new site. Does anyone know what is going on? I’ve populated the categories field and have plenty to choose from but can’t for the life of me choose them when I am actually writing a post. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
