    Hi,

    I recently installed Yoast (a few hours ago) and everything looks great except for one thing, the og:image that is being shared is wrong, and I don’t understand what’s setting it.

    It’s currently coming back as:

    og:image https://juicystake.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/scroll.png

    But I’ve never set it as that, and all my images (Search appearance -> General, and Social->Facebook) are set to a completely different image (my site logo).

    Is it something I’m doing incorrectly?

    Thanks

    Hello Collet,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    We understand that the og:image you expect is your site logo which you have set in Search appearance > General > Social > Facebook. Can you please share a screenshot of what you have set as the featured image for the page and the Facebook image in the Yoast SEO metabox.

    We look forward to hearing from you.

    @collett21

    Thanks for the detail. I understand the Facebook preview is showing the wrong image.

    It seems the expected image does not meet the Open Graph image recommendations, seems small in size. Therefore, Facebook picking up a random images from the page content.

    Please refer to this KB guide to check some possible causes: https://yoast.com/help/why-doesnt-facebook-display-an-image/

    Hi Suwash,

    I’ve changed the images in Search appearance -> General, and Social -> Facebook to the following image:

    https://ibb.co/nQgB9sJ

    As you can see it’s at least 1000 X 1000 and it still isn’t appearing.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

    Collett

    @collett21

    We checked the page source of homepage and do see the og:image still has scoll image.
    It seems the logo image is being overridden by the scroll image. Could you please edit to your main home page? Check if the scroll image exists in Social(tab) of Yoast SEO metabox or in the Featured image. If so, remove them and save. Check if this resolve the issue.

    If no scroll image was found on the homepage, go to Yoast SEO Metabox > Social(tab) and upload the logo image. Clear the cache. Does this resolve the issue?

    Hi,

    I tried setting the featured image as the logo and it now appears to be working.

    Not sure what the issue was but as long as it’s working I don’t really mind.

    Thanks
