# XMLRPC Error 503

 * Everything was fine until the last few of days, since which time whenever I try
   to publish from Live Writer I get:
 * > The server reported an error with the following web address:
   > [http://www.diaryofanadi.co.uk/xmlrpc.php](http://www.diaryofanadi.co.uk/xmlrpc.php)
   > 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
 * I cannot immediately see any reference to this problem other than historical,
   but in the last week or so I have updated WP and Jetpack.
 * Is anyone else experiencing it, or is it a known issue at the moment?

 * did you find a solution to this? i am wondering if this is related to
 * either of the following:
    upgrading to wordpress 3.6 from 3.4.x upgrading jetpack.
 * either way, it broke my Windows Live Writer and my IFTTT and I am very upset.
 * I keep seeing posts saying it can be related to xmlrpc.php, perhaps my host is
   blocking it….
 * I also see posts about xml-rpc being enabled by default….
 * I also see posts about maintenance mode….
 * I can’t find a solution as of yet, since i have no .maintenance file in my root.
   my .htaccess file has not been changed. So I am a bit clueless for now. If I 
   do find something, I will post it here. Hopefully if you do, you post here as
   well and we can get through this.
 * I also reached out to my webhost to see if they got anything on their end they
   can look at.

 * Well, I also did both of those things – I suspect it was one of those that did
   the damage.
 * I have noticed that although the 503 error is reported, drafts are posted to 
   my blog (most of the time) from WLW – but it is messy.
 * I also notice that if I post the draft several times, it turns up as a separate
   post each time in the WP control panel.
