 * [@bigboy289](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bigboy289/) We’re sorry to hear
you are experiencing this issue on your site.
 * Looking at the error details, this type of error can sometimes occur after an
update when the plugin files are cached, and some old files are still used after
updating the plugin. On occasions, this causes temporary errors that resolve
themselves once the cache has been cleared.
 * If the problem doesn’t resolve for you automatically, can you please try clearing
the cache from your theme, plugin, server and CDN (e.g. CloudFlare) before and
after updating Yoast SEO? If you are not sure how to clear the cache from a theme
or plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the
server, please speak to your host provider.

 * After clearing all cache, I tried to activate yoast seo plugin and here’s what
   I am getting: [https://ibb.co/LYm0y7F](https://ibb.co/LYm0y7F)

 * [@bigboy289](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bigboy289/) Can you please let
us know which page is returning the ‘Sorry, you are not allowed to access this
   page’ warning?
 * If you have cleared the cache and the problem is still occurring, we’d next recommend
to try performing a manual update of the plugin. Sometimes during an update it’s
possible that some of the files have become incomplete or damaged if there is
   a problem during the update.
 * We have instructions on how to upgrade the plugin manually at the following link:
You will need an FTP program such as FileZilla and your FTP details, which can
be obtained from your host provider.

 * I see someone has gotten the same error [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wordpress-error-this-occured-when-i-imported-my-yoast-plugin-data-2/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wordpress-error-this-occured-when-i-imported-my-yoast-plugin-data-2/),
however I can’t access the yoast settings to turn off the Semrush integration

 * Hi [@bigboy289](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bigboy289/)
 * We understand you are receiving a similar error message related to the SEMrush
integration. When you say you aren’t able to access the Yoast settings, is this
because you are getting a ‘sorry, you are not allowed to access this page’ message
when trying to access the Yoast SEO menu settings pages?
 * The SEMrush integration should be under the WP admin dashboard > SEO (sidebar)
   > General > Integrations tab. If you temporarily turn off the integration and
save the changes, are you then able to activate and use v16.3 of the Yoast SEO
   plugin without any further issues?
 * Please then do activate the SEMrush integration again by following the steps
   here – [https://yoast.com/help/use-semrush-related-keyphrases-in-yoast-seo/](https://yoast.com/help/use-semrush-related-keyphrases-in-yoast-seo/)
 * Otherwise, please also do try to update manually via FTP as suggested earlier
and see if this helps solve the issue as well – [https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#ftp](https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#ftp)

 * Yes, I am getting ‘sorry, you are not allowed to access this page’ message when
trying to access the Yoast SEO menu settings pages?
 * Is there any other alternatives to turn off the Semrush integration?

 * Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that
may occur. The fastest way to do this is to **deactivate all non-Yoast plugins
and switch to a standard theme** like [Twenty Nineteen](https://wordpress.org/themes/twentynineteen/).
 * Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend
using the [Health Check & Troubleshooting](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check **without affecting normal
   visitors to your site**.
 * As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like
to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:
[How to check for plugin conflicts](https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/).
 * If you do not feel comfortable to do this yourself or if this does not solve
your issue, our [Yoast SEO Premium plugin](https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/)
comes with one year of (technical) support.

 * Did you exit from recovery mode? Or WP is still into “recovery mode”? If so,
can you exit from recovery mode and try to activate plugin again?
 * What is PHP fatal error which is sent by email?

 * Don’t worry, since all the responses here were not working. I used [https://wordpress.org/plugins/uninstall-yoast-seo/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/uninstall-yoast-seo/)
and it delete yoast from my database, may use another seo plugin without problems.
