My Yoast SEO sitemap stylesheet is being blocked (403 error) and I can’t tell if it’s the server or Wordfence blocking it.

    /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo-premium/css/main-sitemap.xsl

Hence, our sitemap_index.xml is showing a blank page when we try to visit it.

    Ideas?

  • Hey @bdeer,

If you take a look in Live Traffic do you see the blocks?

If so, can you please try switching the Firewall into Learning Mode and let me know if it helps?

    Thanks,

I’m actually not seeing it on the live traffic tab. Does that indicate that the block is at the server level?

    Hey @bdeer,

What version of Wordfence are you using?

When you click the Wordfence link in the left sidebar the flyout window should look like the image below. If it doesn’t, can you please disable all other plugins and switch to a WordPress default theme to check for a conflict?

Also, can you go ahead and switch the Firewall into Learning Mode to see if it helps with the original issue?

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

It does look like that. I’m on Wordfence 7.46

I switched to learning mode at the end of last week to see if it would help and it did not, unfortunately. It’s out of learning mode now.

I will see if switching to a default theme makes a difference and report back.

    Hey @bdeer,

Just to be certain, if you disable Wordfence does it resolve the issue?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

When I disable Wordfence it does not resolve the issue. I’m wondering if it’s something on the server end of things instead.

    Hi @bdeer

You can manually load the file and if Wordfence was blocking it, which it shouldn’t, then you would see a Wordfence block page.

If Wordfence is disabled then it is going to a server blocking rule or another security plugin.
