Hi there, the notice should definitely dismiss… check your browser console for Javascript errors that may be blocking the click to dismiss. It should send a request to mark the notice as dismissed, if there is a Javascript error caused by some other plugin or a conflict, the link can be disabled.
Let me know if you find a Javascript error in the browser console, and we can look into troubleshooting that more.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] ProblemHi @maxinedubois, try using our RSS Image Checker after clearing your site’s page cache and server’s cache as well, using your site’s feed URL.
https://5starplugins.com/rss-image-checker/
I don’t see images in your feed, so that’s the first issue to solve.
Once in the raw feed, then RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL should show the image. To use RSSITEM:IMAGE requires the Premium version to enable Media Tag support.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Works perfectlyThanks @fev1967 for your great review! We really appreciate it.
Yes that is true, and we mention it often, you will need to clear all the caches, this is common for most display plugins. Caching is great except when it’s out of date 😉
Hi @daniel93851gmailcom your site has hotlinking blocked. Hotlinking is when an outside request for images is made from any site but your own – to stop people from embedding your images in their site – but RSS and email services are also like websites, trying to embed your images in the external newsletter.
Disable hotlink blocking and your images will appear, use this to test it out:

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Images does not workHi @charlotter be sure you’re using the correct merge tag to display the description, and if so, then try adding a cachebuster to the Mailchimp feed URL such as ?nocache123 etc, and see if that helps. Often Mailchimp caches the feed (without images), and so adding something to the URL forces it to treat the URL as brand new and cache it fresh (with images).

Hi @nephilim777 I see what you mean, the raw feed is def showing the featured image, and so I think Google News has made a change of some sort in how they are pulling or selecting images to use, and we don’t have any control over that.
For your most recent post, in Google News the Latest Posts is showing the same featured images ok… but for the News section, it isn’t even using the body image, it’s using your newsletter signup form image at the bottom of the page, for some reason.
I believe the Latest Posts section is using RSS, but the News section is doing it differently.
You could try using free trial of the premium version to see if the Media or Enclosure tag helps, but I’m not too sure it will.
I wish I could be of more help, the Latest Posts section has the correct images it seems, and our plugin is working well for that.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] media:content tagHi @rfischmann correct, media:content is not native. There must be another plugin, or built into your theme, that is adding it, and may not offer size control, whereas our premium plugin does.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Does this work for MailerliteYes it should work for any service that uses RSS feeds.
Blurry images usually means the size selected in the plugin’s option page is too small… have you tried increasing it to Large, or using “Full”, which is the original full size unaltered? If still blurry using Full, then the original image size uploaded is too small, upload a larger image. Also, be sure you have the “Resize images” checkbox unchecked on the RSS feed page (in Mailchimp, and maybe other services as well.)

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] media:content tagIf you are seeing a thumbnail image being added in media:content and not using our premium version, there’s another plugin that is adding it and probably does not support different sizes, which is common.
Depending on the RSS or email service used, media:content is often needed for the image to show up correctly, but other services don’t use it unless doing custom design with separate image placement from the body content.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] media:content tagHi @rfischmann the free version used directly from the repo does not include the media:content tag, and doesn’t affect the image used there.
The Premium version used after you buy a license can include the media:content tag and does change the size of the image shown there.
Hi @delbono72 I appreciate you reaching out about this, and sorry it’s so annoying. It definitely should be dismissable, and via Javascript it should set an option to no longer display it.
If it’s not going away and displays repeatedly, it is caused by a Javascript error, and there should be a red error shown in the browser console.
Can you check the browser’s console for any Javascript errors? Once those are resolved, it should be dismissed permanently.
Here’s a link I found that has browser console steps:
https://documentation.concrete5.org/tutorials/how-open-browser-console-view-errorsPlease reach out if you don’t see any errors, or need help resolving them.
Hi @lideachetimanca I am not familiar with how to add pricing to the feed, however, I am sure it could be done if I dig into it more.
I will see if I can work that out, and see about including it in a future version of our plugin.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] 2 images in mailchimp emailHi @pursuitofyappiness your next steps would be to look for other plugins or theme option related to RSS as I mentioned.
One plugin that is very popular that causes this problem is Feedzy. Check that plugin’s options, and be sure to uncheck the add images to RSS option, and save.
To troubleshoot further, it’s best to deactivate all other plugins, and see if that removes the double image in Mailchimp preview. (This can be done on a staging server if your host provides one, so your main site is not affected.) If so, activate each plugin until the other image appears, and that’s the plugin that is also adding medium sized images to your feed. Then reactivate your other plugins. Check all theme options if no plugins are found responsible.
If you’re a premium user or sign up to become one, you can contact us at https://support.5starplugins.com/ and we can then solve it for you. As a free user, we only have this forum to assist you.
If you’d like to troubleshoot this more here, you could paste in a list of your plugins page, we can see which plugins to try deactivating, and see if that helps.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] 2 images in mailchimp email(Oh and regarding your raw feed, it’s just your website with /feed/ added, so https://domain.com/feed/ usually).
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] 2 images in mailchimp emailOur image is the clickable one most likely, and the other image is probably from another plugin or your theme, adding a small thumbnail image.
You would need to find and disable the addition of the small thumbnail, by looking at the options of other RSS-related plugins like Feezy (uncheck the add image to feed option), or in your theme, look for RSS related settings.
