    Problem solved – the “title” that I was seeing was “Hard coded” near the bottom of the HOME page when editing it with the “classic editor”. It was so far down I was never scrolling that far; and I had to wait for a couple WAIT | EXIT popups because the page was taking SO LONG to load. When I cleared that Title and Description field out, it started picking up the APPEARENCE | CUSTOMIZE | SITE IDENTITY settings. And now the tab in the browser windows reports the “title” correctly. And to note, the SEARCH plug-in that we use wasn’t finding that, either.

    I’ve tried purging the cache, I’ve tried purging the various browser caches, looked at the page from multiple computers – all still show a Title from the “old” site. Even more interesting w/r/t this problem is I can’t find that very specific string in the “old” site’s settings, either. It’s like that might have been the FIRST title that was set using a Setup Wizard, and it can’t be changed
