When I put in the child theme, it completely changed the whole site. Do I need to remake it after putting in the child theme?
And there’s no way to just change one place where it has the wrong author name without all this work?

If you hover over users, go to settings, then to display, there is a box that you can uncheck (Show below the content). It will disable the author box.
