In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Problem Adding New AdvertOkie – Let me know if you run into further trouble.
The thumbnail issue. I wanted to test if that’s somehow triggered by AdRotate – But that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Anyway, I think I figured out a suitable filter in the uploader.
Screenshot: https://cloud.ajdg.net/s/4WcXJi2jZbXD9i8Only common images and html files are allowed, and the uploader/media screen only shows those files.
I’ll try a few things to improve the field for the next update.
I can’t reproduce the issue with PDF files I have though.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Problem Adding New AdvertI am not sure what happened, but I did try to install an older version
That’s probably what did in the database. Don’t mess with plugins like that, it’ll only cause issues.
You can indeed add the columns yourself and see if that works.
If not, you’re probably better off reinstalling the plugin so that AdRotate can create a new database and settings. This will delete all AdRotate data though. Time consuming to re-do all ads and stuff but it’s a sure fix.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Problem Adding New AdvertNothing has changed in the database recently, certainly nothing related to those fields missing.
I don’t know how you re-installed the plugin but a proper re-install would have created new tables including those fields.Did you update from a very old version recently? Or did you roll back (parts) of the database to an earlier version? Perhaps restored a backup?
I’m not blaming anyone – I’m merely pointing out that AdRotate does not, and can not, create thumbnails. Interpret that however you like but if nothing else it should help you in your investigation.
Re-reading your earlier posts, I did miss your request for a file check.
I can check the file extension for example and reject non-images/videos – Just like the ‘Add media’ button already does.
But the failing advert asset is a pretty good indicator too, so I’m not sure what use it’ll be to add more complexity to the process.Such a check does nothing for the validity of the file either. So my first thought is that the gains are very small.
But I’ll keep it in mind. If I have a better idea I’ll reconsider it.
Alright, so you’re using the WordPress media manager (Since AdRotate doesn’t have a field to past stuff into but a dropdown menu).
So any thumbnails you’re getting are coming from WordPress or through some nosy plugin that’s latched on to the WordPress Media manager UI.
AdRotate doesn’t create thumbnails and the upload mechanic provided by AdRotate doesn’t let you upload or choose pdf files.
So logically there is something wrong with the PDF file that confused WordPress, or WordPress itself has an issue.

In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] ads not rotating on mobileAh I see, dynamic mode is disabled on mobile to save resources. Most people will have scrolled away before the 2nd advert loads in many cases.
In AdRotate Pro dynamic mode is enabled on all devices.

In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Ads are not showing in the widgetSwitching from a text widget to the AdRotate widget may help, or the other way around.
That way you can rule out widget types too.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Ads are not showing in the widgetEnglish please.
Then make sure your ads work in the previews, you can see that when editing an advert.
If that works, the adcode is probably fine. If not, fix the adcode. Check for missing closing tags or misplaced ‘s or “s and things like that.Perhaps try to place the advert someplace else as a test, with a shortcode for example.
If all that works then there is something wrong with the widget/theme or another plugin is causing a conflict

In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Ads are not showing in the widgetHmm, I see a widget on both sites in your page source, but as soon as I click the code in the source/inspector my browser freezes.
They’re probably javascript ads? If so, make sure the code is still compatible with whatever updates you did.
If your theme changed the way widgets work for example, maybe some conflict came up. There are some errors, though I can’t see the tab because the browser freezes…Another option could be that, if you updated AdRotate itself and from a older version, you need to allow unfiltered HTML to work. This is a security thing in WordPress preventing certain types of ads from working.
Read how to enable it here: https://ajdg.solutions/support/adrotate-manuals/enabling-unfiltered-html/Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Ads are not showing in the widgetDid anything change on your site recently? Did you do any updates?
Do the ads work in the desktop when you edit one, does the preview show?Where is your sitebar (Sidebar?) I clicked a few pages but neither has a sidebar I think.
