There is functionality to show image captions in the bottom of opened window.
In the last update was implemented a feature for supporting WordPress Galleries as well.
You should just insert caption in admin area and then they will be used by the plugin.In your case, I see that your theme(or some plugin) changes common HTML of WP Gallery and it conflicts with my realization.
