@missveronicatv resinstalled my original SSL… and went into SG Optimizer to enforce https on website too.. all media now https. No change to custom fields block.

@missveronicatv I’ve just gone through the motions of unisntalling my Let’s Encrypt on my webhosting… and trying to install Real Simple etc… to find it’s the same SSL ‘Let’s Encrypt’ which was already enforced to https. and “The Hosting Panel software was not recognized. Depending on your hosting provider, the generated certificate may need to be installed manually.” presumably because it’s already provide by the host?

Thanks.. I see that. I’ve just examined the logo url but this isn’t the issue connected with the profiles. I have ssl installed and enforce to https.
@missveronicatv Tons going on here. I don’t understand any of it but it seems to insecure profile elements loading on a secure site. Is it anything to do with the new ‘secure’ tab? I haven’t made any changes and only updated to the new version after the issues started. How do I make the elements secure?
All the file upload fields have disappeared again.

Thank you… I did this a number of times. I clear cache on site and also clear cookies and history on browser when tester. Now most of my custom fields are blocked to end user.
I understand it’s a volunteer site. I use other forums and give my time freely. Including a UM mutual support group on FB. We try our best and uppercase doesn’t imply shouting or being rude. It’s simply to add emphasis. Are we therefore allowed to use bold text in this forum?
Believe me… I understand. I answer messages as a volunteer and 3 and 4am. We can all try to speak nicely and not ‘shout’ or discipline in writing. It’s hard to include context or tone in text.
I apologise for breaking rules using text formatting / uppercase.
“Do you have any WP plugin caching or Web Hosting/CDN caching active at your site?”
Yes… as with all sites.
“I have tried to reproduce your errors at my site with 100 custom fields without success.”
I don’t know what this means. But as I said… there appears to be a temporary resolve… it looks like it works. Then on log in later in the day the problem is back. As I said… I am not the only user with this issue and it is not a single site issue.
Did you try to use a WordPress basic theme like “Twenty Twenty” or “Twenty Twenty-One”?
Yes… as I said… this is not a single website issue. The site is not the problem nor the theme.
If it helps, it only seems to be a problem with custom fields. It fixes temporarily by unchecking ‘user can edit’ > save > ‘rechecking user can edit’ > save. It’s time limited fix and fails after an hour or so on next log in. EDIT : now even that doesn’t work. All custom fields are uneditable regardless of settings.
I have enabled WP Debugging and no files have errors
I’m afraid I’m not comfortable making changes at this level..I might be better closing the site and starting over with another membership platform. This is causing a lot of customer issues… and lost sleep.
“The most common cause of a website crash is a PHP error. You can get error details in the file /wp-content/debug.log. This file contains information about all PHP issues.”
This isn’t a website issue… it’s a plugin issue. Across more than one site there is the same plugin malfunction. Other users have the same issue.
sorry I don’t understand this :
You will probably get a PHP log file with notices and errors in this file when you do the edit tests:
.../wp-content/debug.log
