I am having the same problem as well trying to import into my own domain from wordpress.com
Importing attachment gives
Remote file error: Remote file returned error response 301 Moved Permanently
. I figure out that should be due to the permalinks that is enabled on wordpress.com
Anyone knows how to disable permalinks on wordpress.com? Can’t seems to find the permalinks under settings.
