Sorry I never could get the extension to work. I ended up installing another plugin that did work out of the box. Thank you for taking the time though.
I have deactivated all plugins except yours and the custom post type; even the theme plugins, and it still tells me that I do not have access to edit the custom post type. I’m assuming you are modifying or replacing the current_user_can function. Perhaps you can direct me to this area of your code base so I can understand the problem better?
Same thing. As soon as I remove the traditional “post” type that user can no longer access the admin area in any way. Not through /wp-admin nor through a direct link to edit the post type.
Still does not even allow me to access the wp-admin.

I see from that image that you are on the “Author” section. If you change that to contributor and only select edit are you able to log into the admin and only edit the Wista post types?
