Found the bug. It was Elementor experimenting!
Go to Elementor > Settings > Experiments
Select “Inactive” for Optimized DOM Output
Now you can edit inline again.
Exactly the same issue as @ringsoe and @ebookdesigns but on a free non-pro version of Elementor.
Would love to hear if @saidaboukhadra had a fix for this bug.
