I have an add-on question. I need to upgrade from a very old version of WP – 4.9.3. Is it safe to go directly from 4.9.3 to 5.2.2?
I’ve already deactivated unused plug-ins and updated those whose newest version is compatible with 4.9.3

I found a solution, although not where I expected to. At the top of the wp-admin window, I noticed an UpdraftPlus tag. The settings button under that allowed me to get in and make the changes I needed.
I don’t know if this will apply to you, but just in case…
What was the resolution here? I’m having the same problem and hesitate to upgrade WordPress without first having a good backup.
