In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Positioning ScreenshotHi there – the plugin uses a third party api for generating the screenshots and they have no settings for selecting the screenshot area. The screenshots will always be the full page from the top.

In reply to: [Front Page Category] Updated to 3.1 and menys disappearHi there – sorry about the problems. The changes to allow users to include or exclude categories brought with it some unforeseen issues which I am slowly working through.
I’ve just published a further bug fix which hopefully makes it even less likely to break.

Hi – I have made some changes to the plugin that may address these problems

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Responsive screenshotsHi Ricardo – that’s a really nice idea but I’m afraid it’s not possible. This uses a third party service to take the screenshots, and all they offer is resizing the generated image. They don’t have a feature for resizing the window that generates the image I’m afraid.

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] does it work with new wordpress?Hi there – currently it does work, but you will need to make use of the shortcode block and add the shortcode content manually.
I am considering making a block for the plugin, but I’ve not created a block before so need to learn how to do it first.
Hi there – I have just added a new feature that lets you chose between including and excluding categories.
Hopefully that will help you

In reply to: [Front Page Category] Does not do what it claimsHi – thanks for the feedback. I’ve just pushed an update that adds this feature.
Hi – this uses a third party service so I don’t know the technology behind it, but I believe it uses Chrome for rendering.
I don’t think it will allow what you want regarding geolocation – but potentially you could make the change yourself.
I haven’t tested this but if it were me I would try appending something like ?COUNTRYCODE to the end of the url to make the image url unique per location. This would require some coding on your side, since you would need to know the location you want to display, and then append it to the url. May not be straight forward but the plugin code is really simple so should be easy to fork and make it work the way you want.

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Caching of ImagesHi – the image is created by a third party service (run by wordpress.com). When the image is first requested it will be generated and then cached on the third parties site. This can take a short time because the site has to be loaded in a headless browser, turned into an image, and then scaled & cropped to the right size.
Once the image has been cached it will stay there for a few days, and then the cache will be cleared and a new image will be generated.
I suspect the reason you see the loading the most often is that you are likely the one changing the website and testing the content. I imagine that most of the time users won’t notice it.
There’s no way to make the image load instantly since the process itself is slow. This is just a wrapper for the wordpress.com app so there’s nothing I can do to change how it functions I am afraid.

In reply to: [Front Page Category] Not working with 4.8.2/Big BrotherHi there – unfortunately I don’t get emails for the reviews forum so I didn’t know people were replying.
I need more information to be able to solve this.
I can’t reproduce this problem so I can’t fix it. I need to see the problem to be able to work out a possible fix. [ Redacted ]

In reply to: [Front Page Category] It works, but…Hello – I’m afraid this doesn’t make sense. The plugin doesn’t affect anything you do with the WordPress app. Can you explain exactly what happens and why you think this is the case?

In reply to: [WP Custom Login] Export SettingsHi there – I’m afraid the plugin doesn’t have anything setup for this. I guess it could be copied from the database but that would have to be done manually.

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Setup window can not be resizedWell that’s strange. I’ve never seen that happen before.
I’ve just tried to reproduce this and it works as expected.
What browser and operating system are you using?
Can you post a screenshot of the problem so I can see it for myself?

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Automate printing the screenshotHi – I don’t think this plugin will do what you want.
The script uses a third party api to generate screenshots and it caches the screenshots for roughly 48 hours, the screenshots do not get saved to your server.
All the plugin does is simplify the process of generating the image url that you want to take a screenshot of.
I would suggest turning that form into a contact form. There are loads of free contact form plugins (Jetpack contact forms is nice, and free, and saves the data to the database). You can design the form in the browser, and it will send you an email with the info. You could have a cheap tablet in the store for people to enter the info into. This gets around the handwriting thing and means you have a digital record of the tickets.
