In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Updates less often, and keep old versionsHi there – I’m afraid the controls are limited. All the plugin does is link to a third party api – it doesn’t have the ability to store things or change frequency unfortunately.
Sorry about that.

In reply to: [Styleguide - Custom Fonts and Colors] Minor Spelling and Localization IssuesHi Garrett – sorry for the delay with this. I’ve finally updated Styleguide – including all of the translations so that they are written in American english.
Thanks again! π

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Possible to bbpress?Hi there – really pleased you like the plugin! π
I haven’t use BBPress in quite a while so I can’t say for sure but I see no reason it wouldn’t work.
Have you tried it? What happened?

In reply to: [Front Page Category] Can the target page be specified?Hi there – thanks for the message. I am afraid the plugin only supports changing the categories in display on the homepage. Unfortunately it’s not possible to target a specific page. Sorry about that.

In reply to: [Front Page Category] Doesn’t work on WordPress Mu ?Hi there – sorry to hear this. I see no reason it wouldn’t work with WP mu but I must admit I haven’t tested it. I’ll see if I can reproduce the problem.

In reply to: [Styleguide - Custom Fonts and Colors] Minor Spelling and Localization IssuesHi Garret – thanks a lot for the feedback.
I’m English so I have written it in UK English – although as a programmer I often get US programming terms mixed up with UK words.
I’m quite busy at the moment but when I get some free time I shall go through all of your fantastic feedback and make the changes so that the plugin can be properly localised.
Thanks again for your time – this is great.

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Regenerating thumbnails? Thanks π
Unfortunately there’s no way to regenerate the thumbnails. This is a wrapper for a third party service so it would be up to them to implement something like this. The thumbnails refresh automatically every 24 hours or so.
One thing you might be able to try is adding a query string to the end of the url. Something that the website will ignore. eg https://website.com/?hello – theoretically the service will see the url as new and regenerate the image for you.

In reply to: [WP Custom Login] custom login on hidden backendHi there – i’ve just installed ithemes security to test this and the custom login design was working fine.
Could you explain what happened when you used the custom url? Did anything work or was it just parts missing? Would you mind telling me what url you used (just the slug) in case that makes any difference?

In reply to: [Styleguide - Custom Fonts and Colors] works well for fontsHi there – it only works for colours on some themes. Which theme are you using? Can you post a link to your website?

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Grabbing URL from custom fieldIs it possible to grab the URL from a custom field?
Not with the built in code. It only supports a shortcode.
Potentially you could do this yourself and then use the shortcode function to display the screenshot but I haven’t tried it myself.
Is it possible to cache the images and only grab a new one after a set period of time? I could imagine this being once a day, once a month, once a year, or even never (i.e. grab it once and donβt grab it again).
Where are the images stored? Is it possible to keep multiple versions of a URL screenshot? i.e. so you could show what the web site looked like over time? and use a consistent directory structure and file naming scheme so one could easily access the images?
The images are stored on a third party server. They do not touch your server. The plugin does not support storing them on your server. It’s essentially a wrapper for another service. As such I’m afraid there’s no way to have a history of a site or anything like that (although I do like the idea).

In reply to: [Front Page Category] Theme compatibilityHi there – sorry to hear you are having problems with the plugin.
Do you have any javascript errors I can take a look at?
The plugin doesn’t do anything complex so I doubt the issue is with the plugin.
If the theme has javascript errors then you should fix those first since I don’t know how to work around problems I can’t see.

In reply to: [Styleguide - Custom Fonts and Colors] Adding FontsHi Len
Thanks for the message. I have updated the other notes tab to make it clearer how to add the fonts you want to use. Hopefully that helps.

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Extraneous line breaksHi Gary – thanks for that. Still seems strange but I’ve submitted an update that collapses the html into a single line. Hopefully that fixes this.
