Your images are too small to fit in slider or posts. You can try using Image Upscale or Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to fix the size of images.

You don’t need to resize the images manually. Theme takes care of it automatically. Any new images added to your blog after activating the theme will be resized automatically. If you are using this theme on an old theme then you need to use “Force Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin once to resize the old images.
