Ben,
Thanks for the reply, but I don’t understand how that explains what I’m seeing with the recurring event exclusion list changing what appears to be on its own.
None of the data in the recurring event has changed, nor the few instances of the recurring events that had their text changed. However, they both appear sometimes while other times only some of the overlapping original recurring events appear. So sometimes I get 2 events on the same date and sometimes I get only the one that had the text changed (which is the one I expect).
It seems that the recurring event exclusion list is being recalculated on each feed refresh and it doesn’t come out the same each time (and the original Outlook data hasn’t changed).
Well a few hours later and the problem is back.
I looked at the recurring event exclusion list and it no longer includes the dates of the events that have their text modified (aug 12, 19, and 26 for example).
Thanks.
Ben,
I understand that it is a recurring event. The problem is that some of the events have the text modified on specific dates in the series (done in Outlook for an ics feed to Timely). For those dates, I’m seeing both the original recurring event as well as the modified ones.
However, I just updated Extended Views to 1.29 and the problem seems to have gone away. Don’t know if it’s coincidence, whether it cleared some cache somewhere, or what.
Looking in the Events list, I see the recurring event and then a separate event for each of the modified ones in the series. I also now see the dates in the excluded list for the original recurring series where there are modified events. I don’t think I saw them there before I did the Extended views update, but I’m not sure.
It was somewhat random, where one time looking at the calendar, there would be both events showing on the day and other times there would be just the latest one but other days would still have both.
I’ll keep an eye on it for a week or two and see if it occurs again.
Thanks.
Uploading it manually does work. But this is the only plugin in our site where WordPress indicates there is an update, has an “update now” like all the other plugins, and fails because it has to be manually updated.
Seems it would be prudent to add some messaging that it has to be manually updated OR change it where the wordpress update process works.
Thanks Benjamin.
resolved – fixed by time.ly
I have the same issue.
Hi Calvin,
Great!. Any idea of an eta for the fix?

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Calendar feeds not updating correctlyI saw the same thing. I ended up having to delete the feed and add it back.
I tried refresh as well as edit/update and it showed it had imported the correct number, but the events list only showed a subset.
IF you find another calendar, please post the name. I’m starting to feel the same way about the ai1ec calendar being reliable and current as far as the data it displays. What’s the use of a nice looking calendar if you can’t trust it to be accurate and timely (no pun intended)!
It is Not checked and has not been checked.
This is not resolved. I added a ics feed that has a weekly recurring event starting on july 3 and repeating every month on Sunday. I see that event showing on July 1, but if I mouse over it, the date shows aug 1. There is also one showing on aug 1, but that is a monday (I have another post about all-day recurring events falling on the wrong day and wonder if this is related to that).
The .ics feed is

Yes I’ve seen the same, but only on occasion like yourself. Saw it today in fact. I had changed the server settings to allow wildcard subdomains and it started doing it. I switched it back and it still did it. I did a site restore from a backup that I had taken prior to enabling the wildcard subdomains and it started working correctly again.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Refresh of feed taking hours and hours….I’m seeing the same issue. I’ve checked the wp-cron and ai2ec it is set to update hourly on page refresh. If I manually refresh the feed, nothing really changes. But if I Edit the feed and then Update the Feed, then the events are there ( or not there if deleted from the feed).
So what is the difference between Refresh and Update??
An update came out to ai1ec yesterday and I’ve updated to it (from 2.5.4 to 2.5.5. Although the changelog doesn’t mention anything related to this, the problem seems to have gone.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Import feed not workingI had been refreshing the feed, but that didn’t do anything to get rid of the deleted event in the feed. I just tried to Edit the feed, made no changes, and then did Update the feed. It may be coincidental timing, but the deleted event in the Outlook feed finally went away in the ai1ec calendar.
