finally the problem has been solved by following these steps:
– disabled sitemap news option
– deleted the sitemap-news.xml file from the server
– enabled sitemap news option
– published a new content

Hello, I have a similar problem.
I´m getting a 404 error with Google News Sitemap, and there’s no way to rebuild the sitemap-news.xml file. And if I remove and install it again the sitemap (news) is not rebuilded.
My blog use WP Super Cache, but if I disable the plugin and erase the cache it doesn’t work anymore.
Everything seems to be started when I’ve enabled SSL on my blog.
Could it be related to this. Does anyone use this plugin on a SSL news website registered on google news?
