I saw the update earlier today, and have installed it. I will mark this as resolved now.
How did you resolve it? I’m having the same problem now.

I just immediately deactivated the plugin and restored .htaccess, as I didn’t have time to do any debugging.
But after reactivating the plugin later, we haven’t had further problems, and the settings page works fine.
What was your solution? I’m having a problem that seems very similar.
