Thanks, setting training to hide has fixed the default event layout. Do you have a timeframe in mind for updating the plugin for shortcodes?

Two separate issues I think. on the default calendar, inspector is reading two teccc.css stylesheets – I assume PRO has added one that loads after yours and is overriding the colors.
The shortcode calendar version isn’t attempting to retrieve your stylesheet at all.

Actually, after installing PRO, the colors aren’t displaying on the default calendar either?

Thanks, after a bit more investigation it could be the character encoding on my FTP program. I loaded the functions.php file through the control panel/web interface file editor and it has worked that time.
That hasn’t worked, and it appears to be the same as the second line I had in my function.
