For now our plugin provide specific design for the grid layout and pro version have more layout than free version. If you need any further layout or customization in design to achieve you requirements you can contact us for customization or hire a developer.

According to your queries, most of the requirements are covered by our plugin like grid layout, multiple categories display with a specific color for each category.
About the layout of the grid if you don’t like the plugin layout you can just customize the style of the grid.
Please use the free product first and set up your page.

The dropdown shows the options like all and available categories(categories must have posts assigned) but on your website, I think there was some issue.
Can you please provide some screenshots?
Please check your browser’s console where an error was listed which helps us to find your actual issues.
