 * I agree with both of your suggestions. I’m using WordPress 2.5.3 and I have about
   67 tags that appear as click tags. The first 30 or so that I added at the beginning
   appear as click tags in alphabetical order. But the other 20 that I added afterward
   are all mixed up, in the order that I added them, instead of being inserted into
   the correct alphabetical order with the earlier ones. It makes it very difficult
   and time-consuming to use the click tags feature, since I basically have to search
   through all 40 tags every time I want to click on one.

   to the level that a WP newbie like me would understand. Are any “fixer” plugins
   are still needed with 2.0.4?

 * I’m a WP noob, but the following post that says that register_globals should
   be **OFF** for WordPress, not on.
 * [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/41685](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/41685)
 * UPDATE: I’ve read several other old posts on the subject, and apparently there
   was a WP security exploit in August, 2005, that could only do damage if register_globals
   was set to ON. Almost immediately, a new version of WP was released to fix the
   problem, and ever since then, it has been recommended that register_globals be
   set to **OFF**, not just for WP, but because register_globals causes security
   issues for a lot of scripts if it is set to on.
 * WP experts, did I summarize all of that correctly?

 * From what I can tell, the first part of freo4cup’s suggestion will work (setting
   the number of posts), but the second part will not work for what funfelt is asking,
   because it will only change the way that a post’s syndicated feeds will display—
   it won’t change the way that really long posts themselves are displayed.

 * If I understand correctly, I think maybe the gist of eddyj’s question, which
   no one has really addressed, is whether search engines rank dynamically created
   web pages lower than static web pages.

 * [@lhk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/lhk/) – Thanks for your advice, but
   that’s not an option for me because my site’s static home page is already named
   index.php. 😉
 * [@david](https://wordpress.org/support/users/david/) – Thanks for your advice
   and valuable tips. I guess all that’s left is for me to actually do the work.

 * Thanks so much for your quick and knowledegable reply, David!
 * Just to be sure, please confirm that what I think you said is actually what you
   said:
 * 1. Install WordPress to my remote server, using the subdirectory installation
   instructions, which I found at
    [http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#In_a_Subdirectory](http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#In_a_Subdirectory)
 * 2. Install any plugins and create my site’s WP template on my remote server.
 * 3. Convert all of my existing Journal articles to WP posts (probably manually).
 * 4. Move just my WP index.php and .htaccess files to my site’s root to make WP“
   live.” Where can I find the instructions for doing that? I’ve found 2 different
   articles that tell how to move _all_ of the WP installation files:
 * [Moving WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress)
    and [Giving WordPress Its Own Directory](http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory)
 * but I haven’t found an article that tells how to start with WP installed in its
   own folder and then move just the WP home page and .htaccess to the site’s root.
   I apologize if it’s right there under my nose, but at this point my brain is
   so overloaded with clicking back and forth among all of the WP support pages
   for the past week that I just can’t find it. 😉
 * P.S. I have a suggestion for whoever creates the WP documentation pages: I think
   it would be helpful to provide a link to
 * [Installing WordPress In A Subdirectory](http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#In_a_Subdirectory)
 * in the Special Insallations section of the [Getting Started](http://codex.wordpress.org/Getting_Started_with_WordPress)
   page. When I saw links to all of the other Special Installations there, but I
   _didn’t_ see a link to how to do an initial installation in a sub-folder, I thought
   that maybe it wasn’t possible. Then you told me to look for it, and I ended up
   finding it inside the “normal” installation instructions. Or is there already
   a link to it there in the Special Installations section, but I’m so tired I’m
   not even seeing it?
 * LOL
