Chris, how did you resolve this problem? I’m trying to set up a similar system for a non-profit, and have had no luck figuring out what to do, other than pony up for Gravity Forms, which we can’t afford.

It seems to require db hacking, which is beyond my skills, and I do NOT want to slag the db and have my wife (the author) flay me alive. Remember: chefs have many pointy sharp objects, and the skill & will to use them.

I’ll change over the post titles to be clickable; I believe they weren’t in the theme I used as the foundation, and so I didn’t change it. But it’s a simple edit, of course. Even for me.
Interesting point about the length of pages … (Note: I’m not the author, just the webgoblin.) I’ll change to 5 per page … I like that idea. Considering how many photos the author tends to use, that will also be a nice gesture to load speed.
I’ll figure out how to make an excerpt view, if the author likes the idea. I think that’s a good one.
As for different colors for the sidebar/footer — I’m ambivalent. I am very fond of the paper-y look of it, and am less sanguine about creating strict columns. I am concerned it would draw the eye to the sidebar and away from the content.

I’ll have to figure out how to implement the fix Podz suggested, but I’m very wary of mucking about in the db, since I’m a complete n00b.
