Thank you very much. The links really helped. I ended up being able to locate the appropriate html and php in the site I wanted to emulate, and used the how-to link to figure out where and how to drop it in. With your pointers I figured it all out in seconds.
By the time I had asked the question I’d been working at it non-stop for a couple of days and was just too close to it see anything but a jumble of words and numbers.

richards… delete the whole theme and reinstall it. You might even need to delete it from your hard drive and re-download it too. This has happened to me on failed uploads…. Just retry from scratch (uploading the theme).
This is interesting. I can see the logic in resizing the picture for the blog, but on the chance that you’d like the viewer to be able to right-click and view the file in its original size, how would you specifically code to resize without resampling?
