In reply to: Media Link Broken During Host MigrationSince I don’t NEED to save anything on this new site build, would it be easier for me to completely uninstall wordpress for EntertainKnoxville.com and re-install and start over? If I did that, would it effect my subdirectory site of MaxwellHouseEntertainment.com?

In reply to: Media Link Broken During Host MigrationMoving to a New Server
If you are moving WordPress from one server to another, begin by backing up your data. This includes backing up your WordPress database as well as all the core files, images, plugins, and other files on your site. See WordPress Backups and Backing Up Your Database for more details.Note: If you are changing to a new server but same domain, all you need to do is edit wp-config.php with your new database/user information and upload everything as it is to your new server.
^This makes no mention of needing a script. This is exactly what I did prior to starting this forum with you. I’m confused.

In reply to: Media Link Broken During Host MigrationSo I used Velvet Blues to change all the old.entertainknoxville.com to entertainknoxville.com. It’s still bringing up all images as a broken link.
Is my best option at this point to start back over with the original database and word press files again? I’m hoping this isn’t what needs to happen because my subdirectory website is perfect and it took me 2 weeks to get everything moved over and reading all the tutorials. Literally, the only issue remaining is that all the images show up as broken links when I upload them.

In reply to: Media Link Broken During Host MigrationYou’ll have to explain more. What’s search & replace script? I manually went into the database and changes the line items that the host instructed needed to be changed. I’m not sure why the EntertainKnoxville.com website is having problems with the database when I did the exact same thing for the sub-directory website database at http://www.MaxwellHouseEntertaint.com and it is working perfectly?

In reply to: Media Link Broken During Host MigrationYes, I believe I followed them perfectly. I also had the host double check my database and they confirmed that everything looked proper. They sent me to the WordPress forums because they weren’t sure why WordPress kept trying to pull from the old domain…I’m sure it’s a simple directing issue but, like I said, I’m a novice.

In reply to: 404 Error when creating blog page within siteThat is correct. I’ve set the front page to Home Page and set the blog page to Event Reviews. I’ve reset all the permalinks to default. I’m kind of stumped here and being a newbie I’m not sure where to go…

In reply to: 404 Error when creating blog page within siteAnyone have any other suggestions? I’m really stumped why I’m having such a hard time here. I’m a first time builder and have built the whole site myself and for some reason this one issue has me stumped.
