In reply to: [VS Contact Form] Merge Style.cssHey thanks,
I am not using the widget anywhere so this solution works for me.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [VS Contact Form] Merge Style.cssOK, thanks
If you compress images to 2kb google will suggest you compress to 1kb; it’s a war you’ll never win 🙂

In reply to: [TinyPNG - JPEG, PNG & WebP image compression] Still SuckingWhy not just restrict free access? Your service is great but waiting up 2 minutes for every image to process just isn’t good enough.
I keep bringing up this issue and you keep saying you’re improving but the real problem is your free tier is just too generous. If it were not for your main competitor having the same problems I would have left long ago.

In reply to: [TinyPNG - JPEG, PNG & WebP image compression] Still SuckingThe issue occurs when your server is overloaded, it has nothing to do with my installation and is certainly not an edge case.
You need to invest in better hardware and more bandwidth or offer a premium version that free users don’t have access to.
Thanks

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Contact Form ConflictSeems to have resolved itself now. I wonder if it was some sort of caching issue as I can now not replicate?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] XML Sitemap Image URLOK, thanks.
There isn’t any documentation about this though so is it possible to just filter out the images with a simple function?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] XML Sitemap Image URLSo looking at the first option it seems a bit complex to get exactly right. I think the best option for me is to simply not have the image url at all.
Could you offer an example
jetpack_sitemap_nsfunction to drop the image namespace entirely? Many thanks

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] XML Sitemap Image URLThanks, that should work.
I hear what you say about the seo but you can (in some cases) register your CDN url in webmaster tools and google will index all the images very efficiently. Since I already have thousands of images indexed this way I didn’t want to change this, hence my request.
The
wpseo_cdn_filterwas introduced as an option for their own xml sitemap for this very reason.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] XML Sitemap Image URLI don’t have a sitemap at present since the image url issue needs to be resolved first. I want to switch the ‘local image url’ to the ‘actual cdn url’ which is a different domain. I don’t know how else to explain this, it isn’t a unique situation I can assure you.
Maybe another way to do it is just to disable the image url function. Is this possible?
Thanks

Thanks for the quick update, now working as expected.
Under ‘Titles & Metas’ go to ‘Other’ and change the setting ‘Subpages of archives’ to noindex
Ok, you answered it here:
We’ve removed the clean up functions we had for the <head>. There simply is no SEO benefit and WordPress kept adding more stuff to the <head> anyway.
So there’s no seo benefit of removing 6 lines of crud from every html file?
Thanks for making this decision for me. I wish you and your crowd of yes men a good day, I just hope you haven’t done anything else to ruin mine?
