Probably just what I’m looking for, but please excuse my ignorance. Where should I place these CSS lines?
I know about Appearance/Customise/Additional CSS, but if I place it there, won’t it affect other tables?

Ok, so now I have an essentially useless ‘Contact Us’ link as the only Footer Social and following your instructions, indeed, I could now delete the FB social button.
Just wondering why one can’t choose to have no Footer Social buttons?

I have solved the problem by establishing a rule that all authors will have a tag of their name and that should be added to all their posts. So this will solve my issue, but at the expense of additional procedure.
Might it not be a good idea to have ‘author’ as another ‘search in’ field at some stage? After all ‘title’ and ‘author’ are pretty much both basic WordPress variables.

Ah! If you drop down the options to a ‘Footer Social Options’ instance, there’s a ‘Delete field’ at bottom left in red.
