    So I found the solution. I don’t know why but this is what I found.

    In the csv I got when exported I have two columns:
    Categorieën (dutch for categories) and a seconnd column named Categories

    The first Categorieën has the default value (no categorie) and the second one is empty. I never found it just now when I looked at all the columns.

    So I filled in a value in the second Categorie column and imported the csv. And now it works and the product has the new value.

    I saw in onther post that tags and categories shouldn’t be the same in each (it is an old post) but is this true and could be the issue?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply. It is for updating an excisting item.

    To give a complete image, all of my items (9900+ items) have empty or ‘geen categorie’ in the categorie column. I don’t know when it happened. So I need to change it back to what it was (in previous exported product lists I have them correctly).

    So I did the following just now:

    • I did an export with all products with the WooCommerce’s built-in export tool (like I always do)
    • I use Libeoffice Calc or Google Sheets (in this case sheets)
    • I removed all products except the one I use for updating the categorie (ID: 27118)
    • I change the Categorieen value into ‘Funko’ and download the document as a .csv, also change the description to know for sure the product has been updated
    • In Woocommerce I go the Products > Import
    • I upload the .csv file and check the ‘update excisting products’ option
    • On the following page I double check if the categories value is showing in the example

    • Then I click on import and wait till its completed
    • On the page I refresh and I see the description is changed, but the categorie is still ‘geen categorie’

    So no luck. Has it something to do with the product is published? The url is now https://www.pickapop.nl/shop/geen-categorie/roronoa-zoro-nothing-happened-1496-one-piece/

    So its linked to the categorie. Is that something why it’s locked?

    Hello,

    Tried the suggestions you proposed, but didn’t work unfortnuatly. I tried to keep it simple with just a main categorie and also checked on spaces.

    So in the meantime I contacted the guy who host my server. They changed the .htaccess file with the following values:

    php_value memory_limit 1024M
php_value upload_max_filesize 1024M
php_value post_max_size 1024M
php_value max_execution_time 60
php_value max_input_time 120
php_value max_input_vars 3000

    That worked for me.
