S&F just uses the WP way changing the URL, it cannot accommodate for this use case at the moment.
The new version coming out in the next couple of months (based on the current pro version) will actually create a search results page, so you won’t need to worry about your permalink structure interfering with searching & filtering…

To answer your questions:
1) This is possible when combined with the Relevanssi plugin – you can use Relevanssi to power the input box to search in tags
2) This is also possible, you can create multiple search forms with shortcodes, and you may include/exclude tags, categories & taxonomies for each search form you create (there is tab in the dashboard where you can list IDs).

The $20 fee is for 1 year of support and upgrades, after this year, you may continue to use the plugin as long as you like, but you must renew your license if you wish to receive further plugin updates/support.
