 * After reviewing the thread Michael sent, I discovered that the issue seemed to
   stem from Sitelock and their Imperva CDN, which we do use. I had the same problem
   where one of the JS files was being truncated, causing the errors and missing
   fields.
 * After purging the site cache from the Sitelock dashboard the Yoast meta fields
   now seem to be showing.
 * Not sure if this is a permanent fix, but i’m happy to have the plugin working
   again 🙂

 * I don’t believe we are using the Imperva CDN.

 * [@jerparx](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jerparx/) The error still exists
   in multiple browsers. We are not using either of those plugins on our site.

 * [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/) Yes we are using
   a custom theme.
 * I tried troubleshooting with only Web Stories plugin and Twenty Twenty theme
   active, and the “please wait” message still shows.
 * The Rest API is available.
 * [Link to website](https://www.1digitalagency.com/). We do not have any stories
   published, the plugin stopped working before we could create any.

 * [@devnihil](https://wordpress.org/support/users/devnihil/) I have tried troubleshooting
   mode with only yoast plugin and twenty twenty theme active. The text fields still
   do not show up and the JS console errors are the same.

 * [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/) Unfortunately
   it seems we are still experiencing this issue after updating to the latest version
   of the plugin.
 * The “my stories” and “explore templates” pages load normally right after the
   update, but after a few minutes we only get the “please wait…” message again.
   This is similar to the behavior we encountered after originally installing the
   plugin.
 * We also get the following console error:
    `Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected
   token stories-dashboard.js?ver=0e684274b9fe0b2061016ffbcbe62c9a`

 * [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/) We are using the
   free version of the Sucuri plugin, the firewall is not enabled.

 * We have a sandbox site that I tested this on as well.
 * When first activated, all the pages load and the plugin seems to work as intended.
   I am able to view templates, and open the editor to add a new story. However,
   after refreshing the page a few times, or going to the dashboard and clicking
   back to Web Stories, I get the “please wait” error.
 * I tried deactivating the plugin and reinstalling it, and the error message persists.

 * [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/) I do not get any
   errors in the network tab, only in the javascript console.
 * After enabling troubleshooting mode with default theme and only Web Stories plugin
   activated, I still get the “Please Wait…” message.

 * [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/) This was a new
   install using v1.5.0. It seemed to work at first immediately after activation,
   but after a few days we were getting the “please wait…” message. There were no
   other changes to the site settings during that time.
 * I tried temporarily deactivating our security plugin, but that did not work.

 * The site is hosted on an Amazon Lightsail instance. I’m unsure of server-side
   caching, but we are using the Sucuri security plugin. I tried an incognito window
   and still getting error.
 * I am not seeing any failed requests in the network tab, just the javascript console
   error posted above.
